We follow the conservation guidelines set by Inland Fisheries Ireland to help protect Lough Derg's incredible fish populations. Always confirm current rules before your trip.

01 / PIKE

Pike

Fishing is open all year. Prime trophy season: October to March. The daily limit is 1 pike per person, under 50 cm.

02 / TROUT

Brown trout

The season runs from March 15 to September 30. The daily limit is 2 trout per person, with a minimum size of 36 cm.

03 / COARSE FISH

Perch & coarse fish

Fishing is open all year. The daily limit is 4 coarse fish per person, under 25 cm.

Catch. Care. Release.

All pike over 50 cm, trout under 36 cm, and any excess fish must be returned immediately, safely, and alive. Unhooking mats and specialized tools are provided for careful handling.
