Killlaloe Boat Rental: Terms & Conditions for Vessel Hire

All bookings made on Killaloe Boat Rental are made subject to the following conditions. Hire
agreement is mandatory for hire and should be signed by each member of the passenger list.

Eligibility for Rental

To be eligible to hire a vessel from Killlaloe Boat Rental, the Hirer must:
  • Be 25 years of age or older at the time of booking and collection.

Killlaloe Boat Rental (referred to as "the Company") agrees to provide the Vessel to the Hirer on the specific date and at the confirmed time as detailed in the booking confirmation email issued to the Hirer. The Company retains the exclusive right to refuse any hire at its sole discretion, without providing specific reasons.

1. Bookings are accepted subject to vessel availability. If the vessel becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, sums paid will be refunded in full and no further claim shall arise against the Company.

2. Only persons named in the Hire Agreement may board or remain on board the vessel.

3. Fishing from the boat is available up on request (all standard cushions can be removed from the boat). We do not provide any fishing equipment or fishing licenses.

4. The Hirer and all passengers must comply with the Company's alcohol and drugs policy. The driver must consume no alcohol at all. The Company may refuse access to the vessel where, in its sole discretion, excessive alcohol consumption is suspected before departure.

5. All passengers must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) at all times while on board.

6. Passengers must remain on board throughout the hire period. Swimming and diving from the vessel are prohibited.

7. The vessel must be returned to the designated location, on time, and in the same good condition as received. Late return is subject to a charge of EUR 40 for every 30 minutes.

8. If delay is caused by the previous hirer, the Company may offer a full refund and shall have no further financial liability.

9. No prior boating experience is required, but the Company may refuse handover where the Hirer is considered unsuitable to take charge of the vessel.

10. A safety and navigation briefing will be provided upon handover. After the briefing, the Hirer assumes responsibility for the vessel and all passengers during the hire period.

11. Where children are on board, the Hirer assumes full responsibility for their safety, conduct and supervision at all times.

12. All fines, penalties or consequences arising from breaches of safety rules or vessel operation rules shall be borne by the Hirer.

13. Mooring, anchoring or disembarking anywhere other than the designated starting / return point is prohibited.

14. The Hirer must comply with all speed restrictions and navigation limits.

15. The vessel must not approach the shore closer than 20 metres except where necessary for exceptional Killaloe channel navigation. Damage to propeller or underwater gear may incur a minimum charge of EUR 80.

16. The Hirer must remain within the designated navigation boundaries at all times.

17. Water sports of any kind, including water skiing and wakeboarding, are prohibited.

18. Pets are not permitted on board.

19. Any relevant medical condition must be disclosed before boarding. The vessel is not wheelchair accessible.

20. The maximum number of passengers is five (5), including children, with a combined maximum weight of 420 kg.

21. Cancellation with at least 48 hours' notice may qualify for a full refund or credit. Operator cancellation due to weather or unforeseen circumstances also qualifies for a full refund or credit. No-shows are charged in full.

22. The Company may cancel bookings due to adverse weather conditions and issue a full refund.

23. If an unforeseen vessel breakdown occurs, the Company will refund sums paid provided the breakdown was not caused by the Hirer. No further financial liability shall arise.

24. Rain alone does not constitute grounds for cancellation.

25. Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits the company liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability which can not lawfully by excluded under Irish law. Subject to this, the company liability shall be limited to the Hirer fee paid.

26.The Hirer shall indemnify the company against all claims further loses, damages, liabilities and expenses arriving from
          1.Hirers use of the vessel
          2.Breach of this agreement
          3.The negligence or acts of the Hirer or any passengers
